Petit Mal

If you ever find yourself waking at four in the morning, drenched in a cold sweat, full of fearful dreams about near fashion disasters and the things that really matter (do models ever eat? Is Donatella Versace’s perma-tan from a bottle? What would Mr Lagerfield, the quintessential fashion caricature, look like without his high collar shirts, dark glasses and white gloves?) then Petit-Mal is for you. Described by its creators as ‘ sub parallel two dimensional universe in which all things unattainable to mere mortals are possibly possible’ Petit Mal is the world’s first fully-fledged fashion comic.

With their tongues very firmly in cheek, Petit Mal creators Jonathan Zawada and Shane Sakkeus document turban warfare in Pradastan, thick square eyebrows that threaten to overtake the universe, but do not be fooled by their gently mocking attitude and dark-witted humour, this credible duo know their stuff. Their clients include all the big guns- Modular Records, Universal Music, Ksubi, BMW, Coca Cola US….AND they are the creators of  the curiously sartorical Fashematics. If only maths was as this much fun when I was at school.

But I digress. At the risk of upsetting all the Harley Street surgeons, who are poised with syringes in hand to administer the obligatory lunch-time Botox, smoothing the wrinkles from your forehead….I urge you to I urge you to forget those weighty world issues, worries about the plight of human race, the polar bears without homes (due to melting ice caps)…and concentrate on Petit Mal and those things that really matter.
