New Yorkers are notoriously territorial.
Prior to the migration of artists in the 1960s, the Lower East Side and the East Village - a community characterized by the constantly influx and upward mobility of various immigrant groups - were considered the same neighborhood.  Brooklyn alone would be the fourth largest city in the US.
The Lower East Side jeweler, Brooklyn-based fashion line, and East Village boutique stand as the members of this issue’s Style Council.  Respectively, Jules Kim of Bijules NYC has rescued the three-finger ring from clichedom, Dao-Yi Chow and Maxwell Osbourne of Public School create the innards, skeleton, and extremities of their rebellious garments like engineers, and Nina Wolff and Abiri Ward of Crywolf curate the boldest and baddest of sophisticated streetwear from around the globe in a shop that they dreamt, designed, and own.
Bound by their ability to repurpose and create, this cast can be found between 40°43'47"N  73°59'19"W - 40°37'19"N  73°55'55"W.  The diversity of this group is not limited to nationality, gender, ethnicity, or medium and among the many worlds and motifs bridged by this motley group are two of New York City’s most distinct areas.
